The cats passed through the ring and landed in water. There was water
everywhere, and they were afraid of drowning. Then Thomas discovered that
the water on this world was very different from the water back on Earth. He
could float and roll around on top of this strange alien water, and play with
the gold spheres that came floating by. This was even more fun than rolling
on the sidewalk!
Sinbad and Zigger saw the fun Thomas was having and joined in. The
cats discovered that they could breathe underwater and they went swimming
and playing below the surface, chasing fish and exploring. While they were
underwater, they met a friendly dolphin, and played with him for a while.
They told the dolphin all about the magic ring and about how they
were from Earth and had lost their way and didn’t know how to get back
home.
"We’re afraid that we may never see our people again, and we miss
them so much!" said Sinbad.

The dolphin felt sorry for his new friends.

"I’ll help you find a magic circle," the dolphin said. "I don’t know if
there is one on this world, but I know my way around and I’ll help you look."
And so the dolphin and the three cats went swimming for miles and
miles. The cats were getting very tired and began to worry that they would
never find their way back to Lyndonville. They were sad and discouraged, but
the dolphin did his best to cheer them up and he urged the cats to keep
going.
