All four cats fell through a tunnel of light and then tumbled onto an endless plane of black squares, an unreal place, a vast nothingness pervaded by fluorescent green glow. The four cats stumbled around in a state of shock. A steady stream of 0’s and 1’s swept through, almost knocking them over.

“Where are we?” asked Thomas. Opie looked at the gray cat, but he was too dazed and frightened to speak.

“I think we’re inside the computer”, said Zigger, the black and gray tiger. Zigger’s green eyes were huge with fear.

“Inside the computer! That’s insane!” Sinbad snarled. Sinbad’s coat was a combination of dark and white fur, the dark areas of his fur looked just like pepper, like that odd colored area you usually see between the stripes on a cat’s coat. Only Sinbad had no stripes. His personality was as unusual as his fur. His moods were unpredictable and his eyes glowed with an intensity that was almost frightening at times.

“I think Zigger’s right.” said Opie. “As crazy as it sounds, it’s the only thing that makes sense.” Opie was the youngest of the four cats. He was an orange tiger with an easygoing, gentle personality.

Another endless row of 0’s and 1’s swept through, almost knocking over the cats.

They heard someone shouting, “What are doing here? Are you crazy or what?”

They turned to the direction of the voice and saw a strange creature. It looked sort of like a cat, but not like any cat they had ever seen before. This cat looked like it was made out of plastic.

“Listen,” the plastic cat said, “ It’s too dangerous to be here! You have to get out now! Follow me.”
